Common sense driven guidelines
For the general safety of your guests and staff it is advisable to use common sense. It is impossible to list every scenario that may result in the spread of COVID-19, and scenarios vary greatly between large hotels, smaller B&B’s and self-catering accommodations.
Here are some guidelines to consider:
- Masks should worn by staff at all times, and by guests at all times except when they are in their rooms or eating.Masks should worn by staff at all times, and by guests at all times except when they are in their rooms or eating.
- Guests should sanitise their hands when entering any shared area, such as the reception area.
- Staff should sanitise their hands before and after touching guest’s belongings such as when handling luggage.
- Everyone should sanitise their hands before and after touching shared items, such as pens and keys. Ideally contactless and paperless check-in and payments should be used.
- Don’t offer exposed bowls of sweets, snacks and nuts that multiple guests will take from with bare hands – rather use sealed sweets and nuts.
- Don’t offer a buffet breakfast service. Instead serve plated meals, or offer pre-packaged and sealed options.
- Remove unnecessary décor items from rooms such as magazines and extra blankets. Instead offer these items on request.

Cleaning & Disinfecting
We value your feedback. If you would like to suggest ideas to improve our above guidelines, please drop us a note:
- Communal spaces such as reception areas, dining areas, seating, poolside terraces etc should be frequently disinfected in addition to cleaning.Communal spaces such as reception areas, dining areas, seating, poolside terraces etc should be frequently disinfected in addition to cleaning.
- Guest rooms should be thoroughly disinfected between guests. This includes all surfaces within the room such as handles, light switches, counter tops etc.
- Disinfecting should take place in addition to regular post guest cleaning.
- Disinfecting by hand can be a time consuming process. To reduce turn-around time and to ensure a more effective and efficient disinfecting process, a fogging machine can be used to disperse disinfectant. This ensures all surfaces within the room are quickly and effectively covered.
